BFC walk on Eldon Hill, 2019

Buxton Field Club

BFC is where you can meet like-minded folk with an interest in the living world. You can swap stories, share information and ideas, and take an active part in our indoor and outdoor programmes. You can contribute to the website.

Our Club is growing, popular and attracting increasing interest within and beyond our local area. But if we want the Club to continue to thrive and grow we can only do it with the enthusiasm and commitment of our members and friends.

We therefore want to encourage as many members and friends as possible to get actively involved, in a big, medium or small way, particularly in outdoor projects (such as the Serpentine Walks or the Poole’s Cavern wildflower garden), and in helping to put together, or contribute to our programmes of summer walks and autumn/winter talks

Another way you can get involved is to help grow our website and YouTube channel content. You can do this by sending us (in electronic form) any written, pictorial or recorded material which is relevant to our interests and you have created and would like to share in suitable places on these channels. These can be stories, essays, articles, poems, photos, videos, drawings, paintings, nature recordings, music or songs. They just have to be relevant to the Club’s interests in wildlife, nature and biodiversity, and to be yours to share (copyright will remain with you and full accreditation will be given).

We would love to hear from you. Send your material to our Website and YouTube Channel Developer through our Contact page and we will contact you to check out and confirm the details and any edits that may be needed. We will do the work uploading them to the appropriate place on the appropriate channel.

Alternatively, or in addition, how about joining our Buxton Field Club Facebook Group? It’s a relaxed, friendly and easy way of joining in and keeping up to date with our ongoing activities, news and shared content.

This wonderful old photograph is of 2 of the founder members of Buxton Field Club - FT Hall & his son Bert Hall. The club was founded in 1946. Bert Hall was made a fellow of the Linnaen Society & the Field Club were proud to have a botanist of national repute as a member. Interesting attire for a Field Club walk complete with specimen case.
