The 50th anniversary walk in Monsal Dale and Brushfield

Looking for clues - on the Brushfield path above Monsal Dale (RF)

On Saturday 24th June 2023, Rosemary Furness led a walk of 9 BFC members through Monsal Dale and up over Brushfield, retracing the path taken 50 years before by the Club. It was a beautiful day and we found and recorded lots of species, many of which had been recorded on the previous walk, but with plenty of new and unexpected finds. Rosemary will be compiling a list of the observations for the Recording Group, which we will share when it is available.

In the meantime, here we have a marvellous set of photos taken by John Bradburn and by Rosemary on the walk. (Those which are not attributed to Rosemary were taken by John.)

It was a wonderful day, and thanks to Rosemary and Rachel for organising it, and to all who took part.

You can see more of John’s and Rosemary’s marvellous wildlife photographs throughout our pages, starting with their respective galleries: John Bradburn gallery and Rosemary Furness gallery
